After weeks of promising that it was coming soon, id Software has finally released the demo for its best-selling shooter Doom 3.
Available on GameSpot DLX, the 472MB demo contains the first three levels of the game, which put players into the boots of a space marine assigned to guard a top secret research facility on Mars. Unfortunately for him, one of the researchers opens up a gateway to hell, releasing a horde of cacodemons, imps, and assorted hellions. Most of the weapons available in the full game--including a pistol, a chain saw, and grenades--will be available in the demo.
