Previously on DNF Duel, the game’s seen various newer updates and planned content scheduled for throughout the year. One such case is Spectre, the game’s first DLC character revealed toward the end of 2022, and a Nintendo Switch version of DNF Duel, slated to release in April. Yesterday, a few new details relating to the first Season of DNF Duel’s DLC were revealed at the Arc World Tour Finals.
Let’s break it down: first off, Spectre got a brand-new trailer at the World Tour Finals, displaying some of her special moves. You can view that trailer below.
Spectre’s arsenal includes a projectile that travels across the ground, a command air dash, and various multi-hitting strikes with good reach, among other tools. Secondly, and probably more importantly, the DNF Duel Season 1 Roadmap was revealed… about nine months after the game’s release.
Spectre is the first of five DLC fighters coming to the roster this season and is scheduled to release this Summer (no exact date disclosed). Spectre’s release coincides with various other updates to the game’s system mechanics, including a revamp of the Awakening system. That said, the third of these characters will have a new stage in the same update. It’s unclear if the stage is paid DLC (such as White House Reborn is in Guilty Gear Strive) or not.
As for release dates of other characters, the second character is set to release in Fall 2023, the third (and new stage) will come out this Winter, and finally, the season wraps up next year with the fourth and fifth DLC characters. Balance patches weren’t shown on this roadmap, though. They probably will happen if characters wind up being too strong.
Pricing nor pre-orders were shown about Spectre or the Season Pass. Though, Nexon could probably reveal that information later down the line, a bit closer to Spectre’s release. Beyond these, nothing. Hopefully, Spectre and the other DLC characters don’t wind up being $7.99 each like in BlazBlue Centralfiction, but we’ll update once we know for sure.
As for the other four characters in the Season Pass, there was nothing teased. No hints or anything of the sort. Either way, we’ll continue to update as more information on DNF Duel is released. DNF Duel is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. The game’s Nintendo Switch version will release digitally on April 20th, 2023.
