Although such a game is not in development, Capcom producer Rey Jimenez says a Devil May Cry/Bayonetta crossover title has a lot of potential. It's a game he'd like to play, saying in a new interview that it would be "dope" and "mind-blowing," while also cautioning that this is not the company's official stance, just his own opinion.

"Personally, as a developer and a gamer, I would love to do that," Jimenez said in a new Hip Hop Gamer interview about the possibility of such a game. "It would simply be the most insane, gonzo action game you would ever see, with tag-teams, back-and-forth switching, and combos. Hair-dragging attacks with stylish Dante or whoever coming in and doing stuff. So that would be an action dream come true."

Jimenez stressed that he's not speaking on behalf of Capcom, but rather just offering his own personal opinion. Still, he said it's something Capcom might consider taking on in the future, provided there's enough interest and demand for such a game.

He did not touch on the numerous licensing and revenue agreements that both Capcom and Sega would need to settle on in order to even begin work on such a project.

"I'm sure Capcom is always up for doing new and cool things," he said. "I don't know if this will ever happen, but I can't deny that the thought of it would be totally mind-blowing and epic."

Asked to elaborate further regarding his comments about tag-teams in a potential Devil May Cry/Bayonetta crossover game, Jimenez said only, "That would be dope."

Jimenez also says in the interview that he worked with some of the Platinum Games Bayonetta developers back when they were employed at Capcom, so he knows them well.

Jimenez is a producer at Capcom's office in San Francisco. Some of the game he's worked on include fighting titles such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Devil May Cry Definitive Edition, an updated version of the 2013 game, launches March 10 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, the most recent entry in the Bayonetta series was last year's Bayonetta 2 for Wii U, which GameSpot awarded a perfect 10/10.
