Canadian developer Strategy First has announced Disciples II: Dark Prophecy, the sequel to the company's 1999 sleeper hit, Disciples: Sacred Lands.
Dark Prophecy will feature even more of the turn-based strategy and role-playing-game elements of its predecessor. All four of the previous game's factions - the Empire, the Legions of the Damned, the Mountain Clans, and the Undead hordes - will return. Dark Prophecy takes place a decade after the first game; a "chosen one" has emerged from the depths of the Sacred Lands, whose appearance may be the deliverance of some and the undoing of others.
Dark Prophecy will have new graphics that will run at 800x600 resolution and 16-bit color. The game will also feature more than 200 different characters, as well as refined gameplay options, improved artificial intelligence, and an enhanced combat system. Disciples fans will be able to revisit the Sacred Lands this fall when the game is released.
