Nvidia has announced that more high-profile games will be receiving a boost from AI-powered Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, including Diablo IV, Redfall, and Forza Horizon 5. Microsoft's open-world racing game Forza Horizon 5 will update to DLSS 3 on March 28, Redfall will launch with DLSS 3 support on May 2, and Diablo IV will also offer DLSS 3 support when it arrives on June 6.
"Supporting smooth gameplay in Diablo IV is a priority for Blizzard," Diablo IV technical director Michael Bukowski said in a press statement. "We're excited by the high frame rate of Diablo IV running on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series hardware and DLSS 3."

Now Playing: Diablo IV | NVIDIA DLSS 3 Announce Trailer
Nvidia's latest generation of the technology, DLSS 3, was announced last year for the RTX 40-series GPUs and allows games to run at higher frame rates by reducing their internal rendering resolution. With the addition of machine learning, this then upscales a game back up to a desired resolution. Combined with other applications such as DLSS Frame Generation, which injects new frames into your game, and Nvidia Reflex keeps responsiveness high to compensate for those new frames, latency can be halved when using DLSS 3 according to Nvidia.
So far only 270 games have DLSS 2 support, while DLSS 3 support is currently reserved for just 28 games. Nvidia plans to increase these numbers, as it will make DLSS Frame Generation plug-ins publicly available during GDC through the use of its open-source Nvidia Streamline framework.
One example of DLSS 3's impressive performance can be seen in Cyberpunk 2077, as the ray tracing: overdrive mode increases the fidelity of reflections, lights, and shadows while maintaining a high frame rate.
