Devo front man scores Sims 2
Devo front man scores Sims 2-October 2024
Oct 17, 2024 3:30 PM

Electronic Arts today announced that Mark Mothersbaugh is the composer of the musical score for the highly anticipated PC game The Sims 2. Perhaps best known as the front man of '80s new wave group Devo, Mothersbaugh has also brought his electronic and acoustic scores to several films and games.

"I tried to create a universe with The Sims 2 so that you'd recognize that it was The Sims game no matter where you were in the game," Mothersbaugh said.

The composer's previous work has appeared in games such as Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter. The music in The Sims 2 will be similar to the scores Mothersbaugh created for the Wes Anderson films The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore. He also wrote the music for Happy Gilmore.

The Sims 2 is scheduled to ship for the PC on September 14. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's exclusive series of designer diaries.
