Destiny 2's Solstice of Heroes event is wrapping up with the weekly reset on Tuesday, September 8, so if you're working on your Solstice armor, now's the time to wrap it up. Xur and his stock of Exotics can help, though. Head to Nessus to find Xur this week, in the Watcher's Grave area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Merciless. Hunters can pick up the Foe Tracer helmet; for Titans, there's the Aeon Safe gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Wings of Sacred Dawn chest armor.

Merciless is a fusion rifle with a lot of impact, but it's best used as a high-damage weapon against enemies like bosses. Every time you fire a nonlethal shot with Merciless, the weapon's charge time is decreased until you get a kill. If you reload after landing a kill, you get a damage boost, so strategically killing enemies turns Merciless into a fast-firing, damage-boosted blaster. It's also great in the Crucible, because if you miss a kill shot with Merciless, you can potentially recover thanks to the speedy charge time.
For Hunters who don't need another Exotic in the Crucible, you can do worse than Foe Tracer. When you target an enemy, Foe Tracer will mark them for you, making it easier to track your prey as they move around the map. The lower a marked enemy's health is, the more damage you do, giving you an advantage in tracking down opposing players.

Aeon Swift is an Exotic that puts a premium on teamwork, as well as on coordinated outfits. When you use your melee ability while wearing them, nearby enemies receive energy for their abilities--Warlocks get grenade energy, Hunters get dodge energy, and Titans get melee energy. If your allies are wearing their own Aeon Exotics, the energy gains are much bigger, so if you've got a Fireteam that loves working together and looking great doing it, try Aeon Swift. This is a pretty high-stat version of the Exotic, too, so if you don't already have one, you might consider picking up Xur's offering.

Dawnblade Warlocks who like flight should definitely invest in Wings of Sacred Dawn. When you aim in midair, the Exotic suspends you there briefly to make shooting easier, while also improving your accuracy, increasing your damage resistance, and reducing your flinch. The more damage you do while in the air, the longer the effect lasts--perfect if you like providing your team with air support.
