Bungie has released a new Destiny 2 update, version 4.1.5, and it includes a number of notable changes. As detailed in the patch notes, a variety of weapon archetypes have been tweaked, which could have a significant impact on dozens of guns, the new airborne effectiveness system has been adjusted, and more.
The release of this update coincides with the start of the Solstice event, which introduces its own changes to the EAZ, adds event cards, and more, but these patch notes focus on other, non-Solstice changes to the game. The aforementioned weapon tweaks are the major takeaway. 180 RPM Precision hand cannons, which have long been out of vogue in PvP, get a boost here with body shots and crits increasing in damage, which means you can kill enemies more rapidly than before. The same is true for 180 RPM Precision and 150 RPM High Impact scout rifles, which see distinct damage buffs.

Now Playing: Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted - Solstice Trailer
Pellet shotguns get a PvE damage boost from 10% to 25%, while the flinch added to linear fusion rifles previously has now been reduced so that only damage from other players will cause it to take effect. Glaives get a bit of love in PvP, as special ammo bricks will now provide two rounds instead of one, and auto rifles get a slight body shot damage boost.
As for airborne effectiveness, Bungie previously outlined how it planned to make changes to this system from earlier in the season. The airborne penalty on all primary weapons has been reduced, with specifics varying by weapon. Three weapon perks now provide an airborne effecitveness boost--Air Assault gives +10 at all times (on top of its existing, low-health bonus), Extended Mag gives +10, and Steady Rounds gives +7. That should make each of those more desirable options if you're insistent on dealing death from mid-air.
Numerous other changes are also present in this update, though they're generally minor. Some Exotics have been tweaked, too, as Bungie has nerfed Lorentz Driver further, while Gjallarhorn loses its proximity detonation on the primary rocket (and Wolfpack Rounds deal half as much damage to players).
Read on for the full patch notes.
