Who would have thunk it? The words "Redneck Rampage" and "realistic" being used in the same sentence... and seriously, yet.
But that's exactly what game publisher Interplay wants you to think about Redneck Deer Huntin', "a realistic hunting game" the company released this week.
Developed by Xatrix Entertainment, also responsible for the Redneck Rampage series of 3D shooters, Redneck Deer Huntin' uses a 3D engine as well. Instead of what Interplay calls the "sit and spin" feeling of most hunting sims, this one has more freedom of movement. Players will go after duck, turkey, deer, and wild boar through four environments and using four weapon types: a .44 Magnum revolver, 12-gauge shotgun, Viper Mark IV crossbow, or 30-06 deer rifle with optical scope.
Leonard, familiar to players of the Redneck series, appears in this title as a hunting guide, offering commentary on the goings on of the hunter-player, so things shouldn't get too serious, even if they are "realistic."
