DC FanDome Announcements & Trailers: Batman, Suicide Squad, Justice League Snyder Cut-January 2024
The first day of DC FanDome is over, and it's been a day jam-packed with news for fans of DC's many franchises. Things got started early on Saturday with a Wonder Woman: 1984 panel and a WB Games Montreal panel. While the former was filled with some fluff, it did deliver a Wonder Woman: 1984 trailer, and the latter offered up the announcement of Gotham Knights (along with a gameplay video), a new Batman-themed co-op game where Bruce Wayne is dead.
A trailer for The Batman premiered toward the end of the day, coming just after our first looks at The Suicide Squad and Justice League's Snyder Cut, among many other things. We also got to find out the first details about Batman: Arkham developer Rocksteady's new game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It, like Gotham Knights, is a co-op action game.

DC FanDome Announcements
Wonder Woman 1984 Trailer
We got the second full trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 to lead off the event. It featured a look at several characters, including Kristen Wiig's Cheetah and the return of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. You can check out our Wonder Woman 1984 trailer breakdown for everything you might have missed.
Gotham Knights Game
WB Games Montreal's new cooperative game Gotham Knights was shown and demonstrated for the first time. This game will feature Red Hood, Batgirl, Robin, and Nightwing in a story that appears to be set after Batman's death in Arkham Knight.
The Suicide Squad
While we did not get a trailer for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, we did find out who's playing who in the star-studded cast. (John Cena is playing Peacemaker, whom he described as "douchey Captain America.") For more, check out our roundup of everything we learned about The Suicide Squad.
The Batman
After leaking just prior to its panel, The Batman's first trailer has officially premiered. Director Matt Reeves also shared some details on both it and his Batman HBO Max series. Earlier during DC FanDome, we learned that The Batman is a Year Two story, which matches up with reports we've heard previously. For more, check out our The Batman trailer breakdown.
Shazam 2
While the cast and director couldn't reveal much about the upcoming movie--which won't arrive until Fall 2022--we did get an official title for the movie. Additionally, comedian Sinbad hijacked the panel to talk about himself and demanded a role.
Justice League's Snyder Cut
The long-awaited Zack Snyder cut of Justice League got a trailer, which leaked prior to its panel. However, what we did learn during the panel is that the Snyder Cut will be four hours long. For more, check out our Snyder Cut trailer breakdown.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Rocksteady's new game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was revealed, and it's a co-op game where, well, the Suicide Squad has to take out the Justice League. Notably, it's this game, not Gotham Knights, that serves as a continuation for the Arkhamverse story established in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight.
Aquaman 2
We got some new Aquaman 2 details during the movie's panel, including the fact that movie will be more serious than its predecessor. We'll also be seeing "new worlds" in the film.
Black Adam
The Rock's Black Adam movie will introduce the Justice Society of America to DC's movie universe. This was among the details we learned during the panel, although casting details were among the things kept under wraps.
The Flash Movie
The Flash is set still to get a dedicated movie, and the DC FanDome trailer offered us a look at Flash's new suit.
Arrowverse
While movies were the bulk of DC FanDome, we also got some TV news, including that Greg Berlanti wants more DC film characters in future crossovers. The Flash Season 7 got a new trailer, too.
Titans
Titans is coming back for a Season 3, and when it does, there will be some new Batman characters getting introduced, including Red Hood, Commissioner Barbara Gordon, and Scarecrow.
Sandman
Writer Neil Gaiman made an appearance to give an update on the Netflix Sandman adaptation. He claimed the series will not be as completely faithful to the source material as the earlier audio drama, but it will start in 1916.
What Is DC FanDome? Start Dates, Times, And What To Expect
Warner Bros.--and more specifically DC--is taking a different approach to the summer convention. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic--and because physical convention are not a good idea by any means--a virtual event called DC FanDome is taking place on August 22. This 24-hour event will primarily cover movies, but video games and TV shows will also be featured. The panel schedule has been released, and the show is looking very promising.
The big standout when comparing DC FanDome is the panels. While Comic-Con@Home gave us info on a couple of highly-anticipated movies and shows, like Bill and Ted Face the Music and The Boys Season 2, DC FanDome is delivering panels around numerous DC movies: Wonder Woman 1984, The Flash, The Batman, The Suicide Squad, Shazam 2, Black Adam, and the Snyder Cut of Justice League, all of which will include some massive stars.
Additionally, there are two DC games panels, including the recently teased Suicide Squad game from Rocksteady, the developer behind the Batman: Arkham trilogy. There is also a WB Games Montreal announcement as well, where it will debut a new game believed to be tied to Batman. Teasers released suggest it could involve the Court of Owls, and a secret code entered on a promotional website hints at Two-Face making a return.
In addition to the Hall of Heroes, there is the WatchVerse, which focuses on TV shows like Pennyworth, Black Lightning, Doom Patrol. These panels will all appear on the second-half of DC FanDome on September 12. This section will also have screenings of DC animated moves as well. You can check out a curated selection of the must-watch panels from there as well. We recommend the Young Justice panel which will be moderated by GameSpot's Chris E. Hayner. On top of all that, the KidsVerse, YouVerse, FunVerse, and InsiderVerse sections will each offer up something different for fans.
This virtual event will run for 24-hours straight, with encore presentations of panels playing in the early hours and, like Comic-Con@Home, DC Fandome is free to attend. As far as where to watch, all FanDome content will be hosted on DCFanDome.com and DCKidsFanDome.com, where you can head now to make an account and save your personal schedule for later.
Below you'll find a curated list of the most-notable panels coming to DC FanDome along with their official descriptions. Most of the panels run for about 30 minutes, except for The Flash and Shazam, which will both be 10 minutes long.
