Rumors on the Web claim that Ion Storm's Daikatana has gone gold and been rejected by Eidos Interactive's Q&A team. But we have the invites to the December 17 Daikatana release party in Dallas, so we know the game is coming soon. GameSpot News contacted Eidos to find out if the game had gone gold (the last step in the development process before coming to retailers). A spokesperson for the company says that the game has not officially gone gold, as "new versions of the game arrive every day." The company remains firm in their insistence that the game will ship in time for Christmas (December 25).
In the meantime, Ion Storm has released several new screenshots of its upcoming game. The new shots depict Daikatana's second gaming world, Ancient Greece.
