Crystal Dynamics Wednesday offered an official response to the reports that surfaced yesterday over Legacy of Kain 2: Soul Reaver. Its statement reads:
"Crystal Dynamics is confident that when these issues are brought to trial, the judge will see that Silicon Knights has no basis for these allegations. Crystal Dynamics paid development costs to Silicon Knights, therefore Blood Omen belongs to Crystal Dynamics. Crystal Dynamics doesn't feel that Soul Reaver is a derivative work. It is substantially different from Legacy of Kain. There are some fictional references to Blood Omen, but the game has a completely new look and feel."
We are still waiting for an official comment from Silicon Knights on the matter.
