Picking up three design wins is certainly not a bad way to start off the day. Creative Labs found itself in that position this morning with a pair of design wins for its high-end 3D Blaster Riva TNT2 Ultra video card - one from systems integrator Compaq, one from Gateway, and a third for its baseline 3D Blaster Riva TNT2.
Gateway will offer the Creative Riva TNT2 and TNT2 Ultra as part of its Performance 550 and Performance 550XL systems, respectively. Both cards boast the same features their retail cousins do, including the ability to display 2048x2048 textures, 32bpp color rendering and bump mapping, and are available as an upgrade option from Gateway immediately.
The 150MHz Creative TNT2 Ultra is also available through Compaq's Performance Presario Internet computer systems. While not considered value PCs, the Performance Presario line of systems is intended to introduce users to some measure of performance at a reasonable price. "We are very pleased to be working closely with Compaq to bring high-performance graphics to consumers at very compelling price points," said John Troutman, vice president, OEM sales and marketing for Creative. "The combination of Creative's 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra and Compaq's Performance Presario line of PCs provides PC enthusiasts with a phenomenal graphics solution at a very competitive price."
Like Gateway's TNT2 offerings, Performance Presario PCs equipped with Creative's Riva TNT2 Ultra are available immediately.
