Creative has announced that a new generation of sound cards will be based on the new Audigy sound processor and EAX Advanced HD effects technology. The Audigy processor is said to be four times more powerful than the EMU10K1 processor in the Sound Blaster Live!. This extra power will allow the next generation of cards to handle more diverse and layered 3D audio effects. The new EAX technology enables game audio to smoothly morph between different environments, pan sounds around the listener, and reflect sounds off 3D surfaces in real time. Audigy supports Creative's new OpenAL API and the Dolby Digital 5.1 mixing API.

　　Music will also benefit from EAX Advanced HD. The Audigy is capable of removing hiss and scratch noise from music tracks. It also has a time-scaling feature that can change music's playback speed without altering the pitch. Finally, there's a feature that creates surround sound from any source by redirecting frequency ranges to different speakers.

　　Creative has yet to reveal pricing or release date information but commented that more details are coming soon.
