Firaxis Games has launched its user-made mod showcase for Sid Meier's Civilization III, its popular turn-based strategy game. The showcase will periodically highlight some of the best maps and other content created by Civilization III players from around the world.
The new mods available today include four new maps for the game: Game Board, a tribute to classic strategy board games; Imperialism, a map where players must conquer the Old World and then make their way to the New World where modern resources are located; Ring World, a map with a huge main continent and only one uranium deposit; and Marla Singer's Earth Map, an accurate map of the world based on the Miller projection. To download these mods, visit the official Civilization III mods page.
Civilization III was developed by Firaxis Games and published by Infogrames last fall. The game is the latest installment in Sid Meier's popular turn-based strategy game series, and it features a number of new features and improvements on the previous games.
