Chris Evans Gives Captain America Shield To A Heroic Kid In Heartwarming Video-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 5:32 AM

While the widely-spread meme of "Not all heroes where capes" may be a humorous reply to a post, the saying applies to real-life situations without a hint of cynicism. Take Bridger Walker, for instance. The 6-year-old boy put his life on the line to save his sister. And now, Chris Evans--known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe--is giving him a present.

In a video posted on Instagram, Evans reached out to the young hero--who was dressed in a Captain America at the time--to let Bridger know that he's proud of him for what he's done. And Evans will be sending Bridger an authentic Captain America shield in order to thank him for his bravery. Check out the video below.

There are no words. We are so, so thankful.

In early July, Bridger jumped in front of his four-year-old sister, protecting her from a dog attack, according to post on Instagram. "I stepped to the side, in front of my sister so that the dog wouldn't get her," Bridger said. "I kept moving, so it couldn't get past."

Sadly, the dog lashed out at Bridger, biting his cheek. The dog's owner eventually secured the dog, but the damage had been done. While in the hospital, Bridger explained he didn't want anything bad to happen to the dog--a 1-year-old German Shepard mix--which the owners had decided to euthanize.

Bridger's first surgery was a two hour event, where surgeons put his scalp and face back together using 90 stitches. The family asks to "actively strive to bear one another's burdens; stand up for and protect those that are weak, oppressed, or those whom the world might forsake...and [to] love one another." They asked those who want to help to consider donating to Mission 22, Operation Underground Railroad, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
