Mplayer will be the host of a new version of Chessmaster Live set to launch this summer, according to a partnership between Mpath Interactive and Mindscape, the makers of the game.
According to the deal, Mpath will offer rated games and real-time tournament play on its Mplayer online games network. Players will also be able to play Chessmaster Live through the chestmaster.com site. Mindscape boasts that Chessmaster Live enables chess aficionados to chat with opponents in real time, view other players' games in progress, and chat with other viewers without disturbing the players in action.
Mindscape is a subsidiary of the Learning Company.
