Ubisoft today announced that it is bringing Chessmaster to the Xbox. Scheduled for an October release, the game will be the first appearance of the long-running series of PC chess games on Microsoft's console.
Like other games in the series, Chessmaster for the Xbox features volumes of modes, AI levels, and other content. The game will include 180 computer opponents with varying styles and skill levels, 60 predefined tournaments, 500 famous chess games, and an extensive training mode. Players can also challenge others and play ranked games via Xbox Live.
Chessmaster made its current-generation console premiere on the PlayStation 2 last May. GameSpot will provide more information on the Xbox version as it becomes available.
