In a joint announcement, Team Coast and Shan “Chaox” Huang announce that Chaox will be stepping down as coach of Team Coast. “It’s been great working with the Coast organization, and I believe I am leaving the team well prepared to contend in the LCS,” commented Chaox. David Slan, managing partner of Team Coast echoed Chaox’s comments. “The team truly appreciates Coach Chaox’s efforts to prepare the team for competitive play. He brought a winning attitude, and the results speak for themselves.”
Team Coast is currently the top NA Challenger Series team by points, and has already secured a first round bye in the Challenger Series playoffs. This guarantees a semi-final spot, needing only one playoff series win to qualify for the LCS Promotion Tournament in September.
Chaox continued, “While coaching may be in the future for me, right now my heart is in playing competitively. So it’s time to grind out Solo Q, and look for opportunities to play with a team.”
Huang states that his time with Coast was a "wonderful experience" and that he "hope the guys the best".
