The Castlevania throwback Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been delayed into 2019, and the Vita version has been cancelled. The game apparently needs another layer of polish, and the Vita is on its way out so that version is no longer viable.
Director Koji Igarashi made the pair of announcements in a backer update on Kickstarter. He said that the recent Beta Backer demo provided some valuable feedback and showed the team needs to raise the quality level. Meanwhile, Sony has discontinued Vita support, including stopping some online store features, so that version is being scrapped entirely. Backers who requested a Vita version can request a refund or choose another version.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment, but rest assured we are working harder than ever to deliver the game we all made happen together, please bear with us for a little longer and I thank you for your continued support," Igarashi said in the statement.
If you just can't wait to dive into the world of Bloodstained, though, you already have one avenue available. The 8-bit throwback Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is already available, and we found it to be a clever and reverent homage to the classic series.
