On Monday, day one of Sega's Gamer's Day, the focus was on Dreamcast third-party publishers for the system. Each publisher was given a chance to display its games that would either accompany the Dreamcast launch or follow soon afterOne company that voiced its strong support of the Dreamcast was Capcom, which showed off its first batch of Dreamcast fighting titles - Power Stone, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Commenting on recent reports that such titles as Star Gladiator 2 and Tech Romancer were coming to the Dreamcast, Capcom said that those were just some of the Dreamcast projects in the works at Capcom in Japan. Company spokesperson Matt Atwood admitted what GameSpot News had reported last month: Sega is working on Resident Evil: Code Veronica. According to Atwood, Capcom felt that Sega knew the hardware best, so the two companies teamed up for the project. Resident Evil: Code Veronica is currently slated for release in December, although there is a slight chance it could come in November. And although Capcom didn't mention it, there's also the chance it could see a delay, pushing the title into 2000.
Atwood also commented on recent Internet rumblings about the future Power Stone sequel, saying that while some of the rumors are indeed pointing in the right direction, much of the game is not yet set in stone. It was officially revealed, though, that Capcom is intending to make it a four-player simultaneous game.
