Call of Duty: Ghosts needs 6GB RAM and 50GB installation on PC
Call of Duty: Ghosts needs 6GB RAM and 50GB installation on PC-October 2024
Oct 28, 2024 6:23 AM

Call of Duty: Ghosts will require 50GB of hard drive space, Nvidia has said on its website.

The requirements for this year's Call of Duty, which runs on an engine updated for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, are far more demanding than last year's Black Ops II, which required 4GB RAM and an Nvidia 8800GT or equivalent graphics card.

Neither Activision or Nvidia has commented on why the game required 50GB to install, but the large hard drive requirement is believed to be mostly down to an increased texture size to accommodate displaying the game on larger displays at higher resolutions.

Nvidia's minimum specs for Call of Duty: Ghosts are as follows:

  OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit

  CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better

  RAM: 6GB RAM

  HDD: 50GB Hard Drive space

Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better

  Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card

  DirectX 11

Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation.

To reach the game's recommended specification, Nvidia says users will require a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780.

Last night Infinity Ward confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature dedicated servers across all platforms.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on November 5. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will follow at launch.
