Treyarch is paying tribute to NFL running back Marshawn Lynch in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Following the athlete's announcement this week that he's retiring from the NFL after nine seasons, Treyarch updated the multiplayer map Combine with a reference to Beast Mode, specifically the number 24 that he wore.
This video from chaosxsilencer shows off the Easter Egg. As you'll see, Treyarch has replaced the map's "1-A" references with "24," Lynch's number.
Lynch is a big-time Call of Duty fan and was even featured in Black Ops III as a mercenary fighter. An Activision representative told GameSpot today that Black Ops III's tribute is a "nice way to say thanks to a longtime Call of Duty fan."

Lynch announced his retirement from the NFL during Super Bowl 50 last Sunday. He is a Super Bowl champion, winning his title with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.
He's also appeared on multiple episodes of Conan O'Brien's "Clueless Gamer" segment, most recently making a surprise appearance during a Doom-themed installment.
