Borderlands 3's upcoming Valentine's Day seasonal event, titled Broken Hearts Day, will go live on February 13 for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced.
Broken Hearts Day will see some of Borderlands' lovesick enemies identified by special floating hearts. Destroying them will produce "a number of unique effects" such as temporarily converting an enemy into an ally, buffing you and your team, dropping loot, and more. Up to five rewards can be collected from shooting down these floating hearts, including special skins and exclusive weapons unique to Broken Hearts Day, with 100 destroyed hearts being the event's maximum. Check below for a glimpse at the available goodies.

Can you be lovesick if you love your loot? The Valentine's Day seasonal event is a free update for all Borderlands 3 owners and runs from February 13-20. You can opt-in and out of this event, and all future Borderlands 3 events, by toggling them on and off in the game's main menu. It should be noted, however, that the host's settings will determine whether the event is live or not should you join an online multiplayer game.
Broken Hearts Day isn't the only new addition to Borderlands 3. As part of the looter-shooter's upcoming February update, developer Gearbox also announced plans to increase the level cap from 50 to 53, make cutscenes skippable, add the ability to disable Guardian Rank perks, and more.
Gearbox has been hard at work on Borderland 3, releasing a myriad of patches and updates since its September 13, 2019 launch. The latest patch--which was implemented at the end of January--activated a Rare Chest Riches event, as well as addressed some bug and various other adjustments.
