Next to making role-playing games like Arc Rise Fantasia and Luminous Arc, Japanese developer Image Epoch previously made a PC browser game based on the original video animation Black Rock Shooter. The company recently announced the release date of an upcoming game based on the show, officially titled Black Rock Shooter The Game. The title will be out on the PSP and is set for an August 25 release date.
The game is an action RPG and is set in a different universe from the OVA. The game's cutscenes will be animated by Ufotable, who has created cutscenes for God Eater Burst and will be doing cutscenes for the upcoming Tales of Xillia RPG.
