After gathering just $19,000 of its $100,000 target, developer Phoenix Interactive canceled the Kickstarter campaign for its Christian-themed game Bible Chronicles: The Call of Abraham this morning. The campaign originally went live last month.
It's not all bad news, however, as Phoenix Interactive has launched a new crowd-funding effort for The Call of Abraham through Indiegogo. Unlike the all-or-nothing nature of Kickstarter, Indiegogo allows creators to keep the funds they get--even if their campaign is not "successful."
The Indiegogo campaign for The Call of Abraham is asking for $50,000 by March 5. Just hours after going live, the campaign has raised $275 from three backers. Phoenix Interactive is hoping to release the game on PC/Mac, as well as consoles like the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
In Call of Abraham, a third-person adventure game, you play as a member of Abraham's caravan and will (virtually) travel to places like Egypt and Mesopotamia. For more on the game, be sure to check out our in-depth interview with the game's creators.
