BF2 getting boosted, patch bugged
BF2 getting boosted, patch bugged-November 2024
Nov 17, 2024 12:41 PM

Electronic Arts' Battlefield 2 is gearing up for another set of reinforcements. The first-person shooter has already received some new troops in the form of Battlefield 2: Special Forces. The expansion was released in November and was available in both retail stores and via the EA Downloader, the publisher's online distribution service.

Battlefield 2 fans need only hang on a little while longer until even more fresh troops arrive. The game's first booster pack, Battlefield 2: Euro Force, will be available via download on February 21 for $9.99. Included in the content, which is available only through the EA Downloader, will be several new weapons, vehicles, and kits.

Gamers who recently updated their copies of Battlefield 2 to version 1.2 may have noticed that the war is sometimes over before it begins. EA is aware of a bug that causes v1.2 to crash when gamers try to play two maps from the Special Forces expansion. All variants of Leviathan and the 32- and 64-player Night Flight maps are affected, and EA is working toward solving the problem.

Battlefield 2 is rated T for Teen and retails for $49.99. Battlefield 2: Special Forces requires Battlefield 2 to play and costs $29.99. GameSpot's reviews of the original and the expansion have more information.
