Bethesda Softworks announced on Wednesday that it had acquired the USpublishing rights to F16: Aggressor. The F-16 Falcon simulator was originally one of the game fallout items when Virgin Interactive bailed out of the US market. Developed by General Simulations Inc., the highly realistic flight simulator is scheduled for a second-quarter release.
When it releases, Aggressor will feature more than 40 geopolitical missions over destabilized regions of Africa, an AI supporting multiple mission types, and the ability to blow up planes, tanks, boats, animals, roads, and people.
"Flying as a mercenary is what sets F16: Aggressor apart from the other military flight simulations on the market," said Vlatko Andonov, VP of sales and marketing for Bethesda. "You also don't have to read a massive technical book to figure out how to play F16: Aggressor."
F16 has been meticulously built and programmed by US Navy and Air Force flight experts and claims realistic reproduction of the plane's fly-by-wire system. Multiplayer support also comes with the title and will allow aviators cooperative or deathmatch modes of play over LAN or Internet. Bethesda will also launch a web site to promote the title during the first week of February.
