Get The Picture, Berkeley Systems' latest game-show title, has gone live on the company's online gaming web site, Bezerk. The multiplayer-only game is broken down into several rounds. Players are shown an abstract picture or phrase and are expected to compose a witty caption that best describes it within 45 seconds. The other players vote for the funniest caption, and the winners advance to the Fat Chance bonus round. Here, players have six seconds to click on one of many onscreen multicolored swatches. While most will increase players' scores, some can deduct points. High scorers then advance to the Final Round where captions under one of four categories need to be composed in the allotted time.
"Get the Picture's public beta period has been a tremendous success," said Steve Wylie, executive producer for Bezerk. "People have really seemed to embrace the creative and social aspects of Get the Picture much as they did with our earlier game Acrophobia."
Berkeley Systems has been pioneering the game-show genre since 1995 with You Don't Know Jack. Since then, the California-based developer has released a number of humorous titles, including Acrophobia, Head Rush, and Austin Powers: Operation Trivia.
