Beavis And Butt-Head Is Getting Two New Seasons On Comedy Central-November 2024
Nov 24, 2024 3:33 AM

Comedy Central has announced it will be reviving Mike Judge's hit animated MTV series Beavis and Butt-Head with two new seasons, along with the possibility for additional spin-offs and specials. As with the original, Judge is set to write, produce, and provide voice-over for the titular (huh-huh) characters. No release date for the new Beavis and Butt-Head seasons has been given, nor do we know how many new episodes are coming.

"It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again," said Judge in a statement.

All that's known about the series' revival is it will somehow straddle issues "and meta-themes relatable to… Gen-X parents and their Gen-Z kids." No word yet if the boys have gotten a less filthy couch, are still teenagers, or will watch music videos.

These seasons will join Comedy Central's Jodie, a spin-off of MTV's iconic Daria (1997-2002), which itself was a spin-off from the original Beavis and Butt-Head.

Beavis and Butt-Head was a springboard for Judge as a filmmaker, writer, and actor. After the first run of the series, Judge went on to create Silicon Valley and King of the Hill, and movies including Office Space and Idiocracy.

Beavis and Butt-Head originally aired on MTV from 1993-1997. These new seasons are not the first time the show has enjoyed a revival: In 2011, the series had an eighth season. Watch a trailer from that previous revival here.
