The BBC has confirmed that an Xbox One app for the iPlayer is in the works, but will not be ready for the console's launch on November 22.
Last week Microsoft confirmed that 13 entertainment apps would be available at the UK launch of the Xbox One: 4oD, Lovefilm, Blinkbox, Crackle, Demand 5, Eurosport, Machinima, Muzu, Netflix, Now TV, Ted, Twitch, and Wuaki.tv.
Apps for ITV and Sky are also absent along with BBC's iPlayer.
"iPlayer is already available to audiences on over 1000 devices and platforms in the UK," said a BBC spokesperson to Digital Spy.
"While we are working to bring BBC iPlayer to Xbox One in the future, we have no further details to share at this time."
Alongside the entertainment apps, every Xbox One worldwide will come with access to Xbox Fitness, Xbox Video, Xbox Music, Internet Explorer, Skype, SkyDrive, and Upload.
