Last fall, Sierra cancelled Babylon 5: Into the Fire in the course of general company restructuring, but the game's developer, Sector 14 Studios, continued to work on the game in the hopes of purchasing the rights and finding a new publisher. Today the studio announced that it will not be able to finish the space combat game, which was based on the Babylon 5 television show.
Richard Brewer of Sector 14 Studios explained that this outcome is not due to a lack of funding or interested publishers, but rather because Sierra is "no longer interested in selling the game assets." He went on to say that "appeals to the highest levels of management at Havas in France were not able to change its stance."
As for Sector 14 Studios, Brewer suggested that the developer will move on to new projects after a break.
