Alan Bass, former president and chief operating officer of Aztech New Media, has been named COO of EC-Gate, a company specializing in electronic commerce and the handling of transactions between parties. Prior to joining Aztech, where he successfully led the company to IPO, Bass spent several years as director of operations and assistant GM at Atlas Electronics.
"Alan has the right qualities to further build and strengthen EC-Gate", says Sebastian Kuntz, CEO of EC-Gate. "His broad range of corporate and operating experience balances the skills of the management team, and will be invaluable as we pursue an aggressive business plan for 1999."
This announcement comes on the heels of yesterday's cancellation of Aztech's Legacy of War, an expansion pack for Shogo: MAD. While Bass wasn't available for comment, the two events could be related. Aztech is currently working on an expansion pack for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 2: Rogue Spear.
