TOKYO - CESA (Computer Entertainment Software Association) held a press conference on Tuesday and announced details on the upcoming Tokyo Game Show '98 Autumn.
As is already known, the next TGS will be held on October 9, 10, and 11 at Makuhari Messe, in Chiba. As always, the first day is a press day and the other two days are open to the public. It will be the fifth show CESA has put on, and they expect a total of 150,000 attendees for three days.
There are different areas set up on the show floor, including: a General Exhibitor Section - console game developers/publishers; School Section - for so-called game schools where students study how to make video games; Publication Section - for magazines and newspapers; PC Section - for PC games; Network Game Section; Kids Section - where only parents and kids can enter; and Merchandise Section, where you go to get your wallet drained.
While nothing is concrete on this yet, there are plans to also have an Event Stage where many attractions will be held.
As of today, 89 companies are expected to display products at the show. Here are the names of the companies as of July 13. CESA will announce more companies to be added to this list at a later time. We'll let you know as soon as further announcements have been made.
