Austrian Retailer Delists all Xbox One consoles Following Microsoft’s Recent Xbox Game Pass Announcement -October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 6:33 AM

Austrian retailer Gameware has announced that it has delisted all Xbox consoles following Microsoft's recent Xbox Game Pass announcement.

That’s what the retailer told German gaming magazine Gamesmarkt.

Gameware KG does not understand why one should still sell Microsoft consoles, "which bring zero profit and only expenditure, [if Microsoft exclusively wants to profit from their software sales]". The company from Innsbruck, Austria, has been in business since 1989 and has since had almost 375,000 customers. Gameware tells Microsoft: "If you want to do business alone, you should do the work alone."

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that Xbox One exclusive titles, published by Microsoft Studios, will be made available through the Xbox Game Pass as soon as the retail game is released. The first exclusive to be made available will be Sea of Thieves, followed by State of Decay, Crackdown 3, and the rest of Microsoft’s portfolio.

As covered yesterday, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg clarified that Xbox Game Pass members will also be able to play Xbox Play Anywhere titles on their PC, and that its Microsoft’s intention to keep the titles available permanently as part of the service’s value.

As always, we will keep you updated on this matter.
