Continuing to use the PlayStation Network Store as a delivery platform for the PSP, Eidos' Free Running and Empire Imperative's Flatout Head On are now available to purchase on the PSN for A$29.95 ($21.21) and A$19.95 ($14.13) respectively. On the downloadable-content front, the Faction Elite pack for Tom Clancy's EndWar is now available for A$6.95. Unlike the Escalation pack for EndWar, Faction Elite doesn't add in any new missions, just a new Special Forces battalion for each of the three factions. The other game to receive additional content on the PSN this week was Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, which adds in one new level and a new backup character called Anko. The new level and character for UNS are free.
Guitar Hero World Tour's releases this week combine a variety of genres to make one interesting mix of songs. Ranging from the country duo Brooks and Dunn's "Hillbilly Deluxe," to Sweden's punk-rock band Backyard Babies, this week's GHWT DLC is truly an odd mix. Other tracks include "Johnny" by Di-Rect, Rascal Flatts' "Me and My Gang," Backyard Babies' "Degenerated," Fito y Fitipaldis' "Por La Boca Vive," and Brad Paisley's "Ticks." Harmonix's Rock Band is starting the year off a little bit quieter compared to GHWT, releasing only four tracks: "Take Back the City" by Snow Patrol, "Space Truckin'" by Deep Purple, "Hymn 43" by Jethro Tull, and "Funk #49" by James Gang. As per usual, all of Rock Band's tracks are selling for A$2.45 ($1.73), whereas the GHWT tracks are slightly higher at A$3.45 ($2.44) each.
Taking a page out of the PSN's book, Nintendo is also having a fairly slow week, with only two new games going up on the Virtual Console. The first game, which originally came out in 1996, is Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, in which you take on the role of Dixie Kong as she searches for Donkey and Diddy Kong, who got lost on a fishing trip. The other game released this week is Sega's arcade motorcycle game Enduro Racer. Both games are out now, with Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble selling for 500 Wii Points and Enduro Racer going for 600 Wii Points.
