Aussie bargains August 5
Aussie bargains August 5-September 2024

With Borderlands 2 confirmed, online retailers are already taking orders. Well, at least the UK-based Zavvi are. The British store is asking a modest A$57.26, which, given our current game prices, is all but guaranteed to be cheaper than what you can expect to pay at retail.

Zavvi and many of the other popular online retailers also take preorders on most of the big games that are confirmed as coming out, so you don't necessarily need to shop locally to get that Nathan Drake statue with Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. When preordering online, though, there are two things to take into consideration. The first is that online stores don't usually price limited editions until they get them in stock, so it can be a bit of a gamble as to whether or not you get one. Secondly, some Xbox 360 games are region locked--most of them aren't, but it's still a slight risk. If you don't mind waiting a day or two, you can usually find out through Google whether an Xbox 360 game is region locked or not.
