Asura's Wrath dev working on JoJo's fighting game-November 2024
Nov 14, 2024 5:02 AM

The next body of work from Asura's Wrath developer CyberConnect2 will not be a sequel to that game, but rather a PlayStation 3-exclusive fighting game called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle. The game is based on the long-running manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and was revealed as part of a press conference in Japan today attended by Andriasang. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is brawling on the PS3.

Details are scarce on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle, but the game's first trailer (embedded below) offers a first glimpse at the project. The game appears to retain the source material's over-the-top action, with plenty of fists moving faster than the eye can follow, vehicle-based offense, and the series' "Stand" alter egos.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle is not the first fighting game based on the series. Capcom published a port of the 1998 arcade game for the original PlayStation and Dreamcast.

The most recent JoJo's Bizarre Adventure title was 2006's PlayStation 2 game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, which was based on the first installment in the manga series.

It was not mentioned if JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle would see release outside of Japan, and as of press time, Namco Bandai had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment. CyberConnect2 has a long history of manga licensed games, including several Naruto fighters and .hack role-playing games.
