Argonaut on Dreamcast
Argonaut on Dreamcast-November 2024
Nov 8, 2024 3:55 AM

Earlier this week, we met with Argonaut software while the company was wrapping up the development of its N64 title, Buck Bumble. We asked Nick Clarke, the game's producer, about the company's Dreamcast plans and if we might see Buck Bumble on the system.

He confirmed that the company is "well into" development on a Dreamcast title, and that Sega Europe would be publishing the game. You may remember that at the Dreamcast announcement in May, Argonaut was named as a "1.5 party" along with the likes of Bizarre Creations and Appaloosa Interactive.

"It's a fine piece of kit," Clarke told us, "hands-down more powerful than Model 3." While he would not go into specifics on the company's game itself, he did say that it intends "to use the PDA as an external function. As far as the modem goes, it may well use the modem."

Clarke says that while Internet gaming in the US and Japan has gained steam lately, in the UK, phone calls can get quite expensive (even locally) so the modem may not be used as extensively.

UbiSoft, Buck Bumble's publisher, told us that it has not announced whether it will publish Dreamcast games.
