Massive Development and JoWood Productions have today announced that their AquaMark3 benchmarking tool will be made available for download on September 15. The official AquaMark3 Web site has been updated with a Swatch Beat countdown timer to the release, currently scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
AquaMark3 is the first commercial benchmark to offer both a real-world DirectX 9 game engine and free access to an online database. The basic application, which will be made available as a free download, is based on Massive Development's krass engine--as used by games such as AquaNox, AquaNox 2: Revelation, and Spellforce. More-sophisticated versions of the tool will be available from the AquaMark online shop, where license prices are expected to start at $9.95 for the professional version.
