The GameSpot editorial staff wishes to thank all of our readers who participated in our April Fools' Day jokes. As many of you already know, Tomb Raider is not actually coming out for the Atari 2600 this May. The screenshot of the game was created by James Catalano, who many of you may remember from the Doom 2600 hoax that circulated around the Web several years ago. Besides mocking up the graphic for us, James also acted as the fictional lead designer of the game and answered our many questions about Tomb Raider 2600. Thanks James. We'll be running a selection of reader responses, along with the text and graphic from the original article later this week.
We apologize if any of our fake stories caused any confusion--then again it was April Fools' Day, after all, and the stories were intended for entertainment only.
