During EA Play 2020, Respawn had some big announcements for Apex Legends. The battle royale game is scheduled to get cross-platform support between consoles and PC. Additionally, Apex Legends is releasing for Steam and Nintendo Switch, providing more ways to play the game.
Respawn did not have exact dates for when Apex Legends would be seeing these changes or releases, but it's all expected out sometime this fall. As part of our Play For All interview with Respawn, we also learned that Season 6 could see changes to Apex's storytelling, which has continued to evolve since launch.

Now Playing: Apex Legends: Lost Treasures - Full Presentation | EA Play 2020
EA has committed itself to expanded support for Switch as well as Steam, and the release of Apex is perhaps the strongest indication of that dedication yet. A number of EA games have hit Steam in recent weeks, with Titanfall 2, Dead Space 3, and The Sims 4 hitting just prior to EA Play.
After an eventful first year, Apex Legends doubled-down on its risky but bold storytelling with the first two seasons of Year 2, Season 4: Assimilation and Season 5: Fortune's Favor. Season 5 also introduced new types of changes to Apex Legends, such as implementing complete legend reworks (like a serious buff to Mirage) and a permanent PvE mode called Quest. Cross-play marks a welcome new feature that fans have been clamoring for, and it falls in a line with a number of other EA releases suddenly introducing the functionality.
For Play For All, GameSpot staff played Apex Legends with Justine Huxley and Roger Craig Smith, the voice actors for Natalie "Wattson" Paquette and Elliott "Mirage" Witt, respectively. During the stream, we managed to secure several thrilling wins and discussed what it's like to voice characters in one of the most popular battle royale games.
