American Conquest: Divided Nation E3 2005 Preshow Report-November 2024
Nov 17, 2024 7:40 PM

Those who have always wanted to play out the conflicts of 19th-century America in real-time strategy form would do well to pay attention to a new title from publisher CDV Software, titled American Conquest: Divided Nation. Currently in development at GSC Game World, Divided Nation will take the same style of gameplay found in the previous installments of the American Conquest series--American Conquest and American Conquest: Fight Back--and translate it into 19th-century warfare, using the more-advanced technologies and complex strategies of the period.

More than 45 scenarios will be included in the game. All the major generals of the time will be followed in their notable battles, with the obviously major conflicts of the Civil War--like Gettysburg and Shiloh--joining other wars, such as the Texas Mexican war--with such notable battles as the Alamo siege. Every battle in the game is based on real topographical data and historical sources. Authentic uniforms and troop types, ranging from the typical grays and blues of the Civil War era to the massive armies of Santa Anna will be included. Troop and unit types include pioneer troops, heavy static artillery, hospitals and medical units, horse artillery, ironclad warships, and submarines.

American Conquest: Divided Nation will be making its debut at E3 2005. The game is currently scheduled for release this summer, and we'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
