AMC has unveiled the second trailer for its upcoming Interview With The Vampire series, premiering October 2, just in time for the Halloween season. The show will be immediate follow The Walking Dead, with the first two episodes available on AMC+ that same night.
The show will once again follow vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac (Game of Thrones' Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), and Claudia's (Bailey Bass) epic story of love, blood, and the dangers of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, Succession).
This remake will be told through the eyes as a Black man in 1900s New Orleans, with Louis finding it impossible to resist the licentious Lestat's offer of ultimate power and joining him as his vampire companion. The first trailer premiered during AMC's Comic-Con panel this past year. You can check out the latest trailer below.
We see a lot of the source material here with Claudia pining for Louis and the sparking jealousy that burns through Lestat. There's also the reference to the Dark Gift, which is what vampires use as the term for turning somebody into one of them, all seen while David Bowie's "Nature Boy" plays on.
Executive produced by Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Halt and Catch Fire, Rectify), creator and showrunner Rolin Jones (HBO's Perry Mason, Friday Night Lights), along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice, the series' first season will consist of seven episodes. Acclaimed director Alan Taylor directs the first two episodes and is also an executive producer.
