ATI has announced that it is now shipping the All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500, the latest in the company's popular line of All-in-Wonder multimedia graphics cards. The new card is the more affordable cousin of the $399 All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500, which that was released last December.
The All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500's multimedia capabilities include video capture and enhanced TV features. New to the new All-in-Wonder cards is a radio-frequency remote control that works in combination with the unit's video connection breakout box to control the video playback software. The card has a TiVo-like TV-on-demand feature that streams video to a PC's hard drive to enable instant replays. Unlike the All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500, the new card does not include a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port.
The All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500 is also intended as a competent gaming card. The Radeon 7500 chip at the heart of the new 64MB card is a speedier version of the chip in ATI's popular Radeon DDR card (now called the Radeon 7200). The All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500 has a 260MHz core clock speed and 160MHz DDR memory.
The All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500 should soon be available in retail locations at a suggested price of $199. Look to the GameSpot review of the more expensive All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500 for more information on the new All-in-Wonder features.
