During a rapid 100-questions interview, Remedy's creative director Sam Lake, confirmed that fans will be able to enjoy Alan Wake 2 in the future.

　　Game Informer did an interview with Lake, to prepare for their December issue, and when asked whether we will "ever get to play Alan Wake 2", the creative director replied "Yes". 　　That single word is the only you'll hear from Lake for the moment, but does confirm that the sequel to Alan Wake is still on Remedy's radar. Back in April of this year, Remedy stated that they always had planned a sequel for the Original Alan Wake.

　　“For Alan Wake, from the get-go, we assumed there was going to be a sequel and we mapped things further out when it came to character, story, details and focus changes,” Sam Lake told website Polygon.

　　“Near the end of Alan Wake, we were sitting down and talking about the sequel and where we should be taking it, on a detailed level. More or less straight from getting Alan Wake shipped, we were working on a sequel and planning on a sequel.”

　　The original Alan Wake released back in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Windows PC. The game is a psychological survival horror game, which received several awards, including one reward for best videogame of 2010.

　　Alan Wake was unveiled back in 2005 during the E3  in Los Angeles. "In Alan Wake we want to weave the story tightly into the gameplay. Combining intense and cinematic storytelling with player freedom is an interesting and exciting challenge," says Sam Lake, Lead Writer, "Mood and atmosphere are essential parts of a thriller, and we want them to be present throughout the whole gameplay experience."

　　Although Lake now confirmed that there will be an Alan Wake 2, it's yet unknown on what platform Remedy will release the game. I think it's safe to say that the game will be released on the Xbox One, but I can't rule out a possible release on the PS4 either. I guess only time will tell.
