Here's something you might not have expected. Call of Duty and Destiny publisher Activision has announced--and launched--a new game based on the popular TV show Downtown Abbey. The game is called Mysteries of the Manor, and it's available to play for free today on iTunes, Google Play, and the Amazon Appstore.
Activision describes Mysteries of the Manor as the very first "interactive gaming experience" set in the world of the award-winning show. Take a look at the trailer below to see it in action.
Mysteries of the Manor is a "hidden object game" that features characters and locations taken from the series. Here is how Activision sets up the story:
"When an unknown intruder ransacks the mansion, putting the Crawley family's fortune in jeopardy, players must discreetly search every room to find the missing treasures and unravel the mystery behind the break-in. But in a place where everyone has something to hide, no one is above suspicion."
Players will find and return the items to their rightful owners, advancing through new areas to push the story forward. Mysteries of the Manor also features leaderboards for players to compete with friends.
The sixth and final season of Downton Abbey debuts in January.
