Over the weekend Activision announced a plan to accelerate development of games for next-generation consoles and the Internet. The company believes the reorganization will position the company to better take advantage of the opportunities available in the console and Internet markets. The restructuring will cost approximately US$66 million that will be reflected in the company's March 31, 2000 fiscal year end results. Of these charges, approximately $40 million will be from non-cash items. The company expects these actions to result in a pre-tax savings of approximately $11 million in their 2001 fiscal year.
