The Game Initiative today said that Suzanne Freyjadis-Chuberka had been named director of the Women's Game Conference. The event takes place on the same dates as the Austin Game Conference, which is also produced by The Game Initiative. Freyjadis-Chuberka holds a master's degree in women's and gender studies from the Austin campus of the University of Texas. According to event producers, she is "an accomplished researcher and presenter in the fields of gender issues and gaming and in girls' youth culture" and has been researching "various aspects of women as a video game market for the past three years." This is the first time the event has named a conference director. The Women's Game Conference takes place this year on October 26 and 27 in Austin, Texas.
