Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has partnered with Anonymous Content Studios and will soon begin production on a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project. Though details on the upcoming project are sparse, Anonymous Content has an impressive track record--the studio produced Oscar-winning films like The Revenant and Spotlight, but has also succeeded in the television industry, creating popular series like Mr. Robot and True Detective.
Though it hasn't been explicitly stated whether the Cyberpunk 2077 project will be a standalone film, a miniseries, or a television show, the fact that CDPR is working closely with Anonymous Content's head of television Garret Kimble suggests that a miniseries or television show are the most likely options.

Now Playing: Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Video Review
CDPR is also working directly with Anonymous Content Studios’ Chief Creative Officer David Levine. Levine was previously HBO’s EVP and co-head of drama for over a decade, overseeing production of series such as True Detective, Westworld, and True Blood, according to a recent press release posted to CDPR's official website. Levine was also involved in the production some early seasons of Game of Thrones.
This isn't the first time CDPR has dipped its toes into the world of television. In 2022, the studio partnered with Netflix and Studio Trigger to create Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime series that was well-received by fans of both the video game and the genre at large.
The press release states that the project "is at an early development stage" and is currently on the hunt for a screenwriter "to tell a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077," adding that the project will be "developed in close collaboration" with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team. Though rather sparse on concrete details, the press release also promises that more info regarding the live-action project "will be made available as the partnership between Anonymous Content and CD Projekt Red progresses."
Unfortunately, this means there are no further details on the project to share at this time. On the bright side, the recently released Phantom Liberty expansion is so packed with new content, CDPR is recommending that players start a new playthrough from scratch to see everything the update has to offer. So at the very least, fans of the Cyberpunk franchise have something to hold them over until more details on this mysterious live-action project are released.
